From 2006 to 2009 Julia Burns was the Executive Director of the Australian Government’s Office for Women. Julia also led a major review of the Federal Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace legislation in 2009-10. Julia has been a champion of women throughout her career in the public sector and in her interests and activities outside of the workplace. She takes particular pride in the successful mentoring, coaching and role modelling she has provided to a very large number of women seeking to move into senior leadership roles. Julia also provides ongoing mentoring and executive coaching to a significant number of experienced female and male leaders.
Julia is often called upon to address leadership seminars about women as leaders and about women’s careers and opportunities. Julia can also work with male leaders about creating environments where women can succeed.
Julia can tailor presentations, seminars, coaching and other development plans to meet the needs of individual women, or of teams or organisations. An important focus of this work is supporting men in the workforce to be a part of these positive initiatives too.
